Horatio Eddy

Naples, November 10 – Horatio Eddy 68 years old, Farmer, died Saturday of apoplexy at his home at Italy Valley.

He is survived by his wife, formerly Miss Zelda Barker; one son Oren Eddy of Italy Valley; and one brother, Charles Eddy of Prattsburgh.

Horatio Eddy

At his home in Italy valley last Saturday morning, November 08, 1924, occurred the sudden death of Horatio Eddy aged 68 years. While feeding his chickens on Saturday morning Mr. Eddy was taken ill and called to his family for assistance. He suffered a stroke of apoplexy and died within two hours.

Mr. Eddy was the son of John and Almira Caples Eddy and was born in the town of Prattsburgh on September 10 1856; practically his whole life was spent in Italy valley. In 1879 he was united in marriage with Miss Zelda Barker who survives together with one son, Oren Eddy of Italy valley and one brother Charles Eddy of Prattsburgh.

Funeral services were held from the home on Monday afternoon, reverend E. S. Cole, pastor of the Prattsburgh M. E. Church, officiating and interment was made in the Italy –Naples Cemetery.

 

 

Mrs. Margaret Eddy

Caledonia –Mrs. Margaret M. Eddy, 74 of State Street, formerly of Castile died Friday November 29 1996 at Strong Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

Mrs. Eddy was born May 15, 1922 in Aurora Iowa a daughter of the late Earl and Cora Bradley Miller.

She was a retired quality control inspector for the Sylvania Corp. in Batavia and a member of the Castile United Church Of Christ.

Her husband, the late George Eddy, died in 1993.

Interment will be at East Koy Cemetery in Pike.

Memorials may be made to the American lung association. Arrangements will be made by Harmon and Watson Funeral Home, Castile.

Walter Zeh

Greenfield – Walter E. Zeh of Wilton Rd. Died Thursday November 11 at the Piedmont Health Center In North Carolina.  He was 81

Mr. Zeh was born on November 30, 1917 in Schenectady. 

He was a graduate of Saratoga springs high school and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and music from Skidmore college.  He was in honorably discharged veteran of world war two.  He served in the army air corps in Alaska. 

He retired as an administrative analyst With The New York State Office Of General Services.
